The content presented on this website focuses on two areas: emerging social issues / harmful traditional practices and topics that receive less attention due to prohibition and lack of interest from the mainstream. These contents try to simplify scientific concepts with a different approach and provide valuable findings about daily life in different communities for the general public.
The studies presented on this website cover the status of socially disadvantaged groups such as child labour, sexual minorities / LGBTQ+, identity groups, gender and ethnic minorities. The ultimate goal of these studies is to increase awareness, promote a culture of equality and peace, freely share results in various formats such as text books, audio books, video, documentary, motion graphics, and podcast.

Research Elements

Kameel Ahmady, has been researching various dimensions of indigenous/popular culture and sustainable peace through research and fieldwork with a group of collaborating researchers and fieldwork assistants for the past two decades. The results of his efforts are reflected in a collection of books, articles, films, clips, and documentary reports that are freely accessible on this website.
The content of these studies reflects dynamic coordination and participation among research elements such as management, field researchers, and research topics. Some of the important achievements of these efforts include research studies and books, and articles on Iran, the middle east the region beyond, such as:
The first travel guide to Turkish Kurdistan (Northern Kurdistan), honor killings in Iraq and Kurdistan region (South Kurdistan), and field research on various dimensions such as male and female circumcision (Male/Female genital mutilation or cutting), child marriage, temporary marriage (Sigheh), Incest and Child sexual abuse, white marriage or cohabitation, and LGBTQ+ groups.

Introduction

Kameel Ahmady is a British-Iranian researcher working in the field of social anthropology, with a particular focus on gender, children, ethnic minorities, and child labour. Kameel was born in Iranian Kurdistan (also known as East Kurdistan). He obtained his Master’s degree in Social Anthropology and Visual Ethnography from the University of Kent, UK. His academic pursuits include specialized courses in Middle Eastern Politics and Research Methods from other British institutions. Known for studying harmful traditions, Ahmady serves as both a supervisor and developer for his teamwork research publications in Farsi, Kurdish, and English. In 2017, he was honoured with “Honour” prize by the UK based IKWRO organization at the University of Law in London. Subsequently, in 2018, at George Washington University, Global P.E.A.C.E. foundation bestowed upon him the “Literature and Humanities” award in recognition of his contributions to the field.
