We interviewed Kameel Ahmady, a British-Kurdish-Iranian social anthropologist whose academic work examines minority and gender dynamics in Iran. Now based in the UK, Ahmady was imprisoned in Iran in 2019 for his research and sentenced to nine years, but made a daring escape across the border in 2020.
